We made
it!!!!!!!
We joined Elk city in the Dulles airport yesterday around 4
p.m. We were supposed to leave for Africa by 10 p.m., but of course we were
delayed by 2 hours. That was great news for us!!! We all crowded in a
restaurant and watched the Thunder game. While we were having a great time, 7
of the group people from Southern Hills were dealing with hours of delay in
Tulsa, trying to get tickets changed, and running with carry on through
different airports. We boarded around 12:30 a.m. and patiently waited for the 7
people (Katie Wilburn, Beth Wilburn, Allison Lilly, Clara Brown, Annie
Harrington, Gene Phillips, Zach Phillips) to join us on the plane. They had 2
minutes to get off board and race to our terminal. We cheer as each one walked
though the doors! We are all so happy that we were able to come to Ghana as one
group!
When arriving in Ghana we were welcomed by many Ghanaians,
dancing to the pounding of drums. Our baggage arrived in great condition, but
sadly the 7 people from Southern Hills will have to wait for their luggage
until tomorrow. The weather is quite nice. It’s cloudy and not too hot.
For the rest of the day we are planning on running a
children carnival type thing. Not sure what this is going to look like, but we
are excited to love some African children.
No one is sick! No one is lost. All is well thus far!
Pray for the children that we will be witnessing to today!
THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THE POST, it is so hard on this side to anxiously await word. And I know your side of it. Know the carnival will be amazing. I cannot wait to see pictures of how the Ghanaians welcomed you. I am sure you 54 were an impressive site. It is so nice that all of you traveled together, makes such a difference.

So glad to get this. Yesterday was such a day of fervent prayer for our 7 kiddoes. God is faithful and full of grace. Hope you had fun with the carnival. Praying for rest tonight with lots of energy and God's presence in each of your lives. Loving you all!! Rebecca
